What is a Single Alternative Inspection Location (SAIL)?

A SAIL is an address that a company can use to keep and make certain statutory records available for inspection by the public or regulators, as required by the Companies Act 2006.

Companies may keep records such as:

  • Register of Members (shareholders)
  • Directors’ service addresses
  • PSC (Persons with Significant Control) register
  • Company constitution and minutes

These must be accessible in person during business hours on reasonable notice.
